Plant-based patrons do need to keep […]

Ami Anderson says:

I recommended this to my family & they loved it… until they saw comments on facebook, now they are all ashamed of it. lol

Tertia Smit says:

Have you tried any of the recipes?

Bonnie Hundley says:

I love this book. They use all their language for humor.

Mike Youtube says:

Another "controversial" vegan book is Meat is for Pussies. It isnt necessarily a cookbook but I do believe it has some recipes.

I havent read either but they seem like a great way to get men to eat healthier.

I hope to get both.

Its good to see a wider variety of people eating plant based diets.

It isnt just a hippy/hispter thing and not every vegan shows distain for meat eaters.

Some people like to think that not eating animals is going to save the world and fix all our problems. It isnt the solution but it is a great first step.

Samantha P says:

haha! You have a fun sense of humor!

Sasha Noël says:

I think they were definitely innovative but all things considered, it is definitely racist. They might not have even meant to be offensive but their initiative maintained their anonymity for a while…making it hard to believe they weren't aware of what the title ensenuated. The Black man is the most imitated man on the planet. Think of it this way: when you hear white ppl throwing around the words "that's so ghetto", "fleek", "#thuglife", "dope af", knowing damn well they don't speak like that and if they heard a black person speak like that there would be immediate judgement of character, it's cultural appropriation. Being a thug is far from something I want to be associated with as a Black woman but let's be real here, that's what everyone assumed when they see the title of that cook book. I honestly thought to myself, "cool, probably a Black author taking a negative stereotype and turning it on its head via veganism awareness." That's not the case and it is kind of hurtful and manipulative for them to do that. I'm all for being positive and trying to see the best in one's intentions but I can't fall asleep on cultural appropriation. It's too wack to give a pass to. I don't want to hear anyone say minority's emulate White people all the time either because that's assimilation. They're the majority hence society deeming them the beauty, success and morality standard despite how beautiful, successful, or moral any other minority of could ever be in this society.

T Powell says:

…..Original Idea, Funny, My grandma Mearl cusses up a storm….She's a spitfire, loves to cook and funny as shit…..I'm getting this book for her for Xmas…..she's gonna love it!!

S O N J A says:

Our society is so twisted up, we don't even know what actual "racist" is anymore. To top it off, it shows the depths of internalized racism that many of us suffer from. We don't own thuggism, nor do we own swear words & broken english smfh.

Anyway…I was looking at this cookbook at the bookstore recently. Have you made any of the recipes yet?

duke togo says:

Why is it racist ? Thugs come in all colors exactly . Humans need to chill

Angela Hadley says:

"Thug" is what white people call black boys to justify their murders.
