Anyone going to talk about that editing in the spice bowl?! 😳
It was UH-MAZING, MESMERIZING!!!! And very helpful, too😊
I love that!! I actually went back to see what each was n looked like.
Was exactlyyy thinking the same.
It’s just woww.
Yeah the spice editing was dope, never saw that.
Dried meatloaf?? Wow
HOLY. CRAP. I made this for my family for dinner tonight and it is hands down the best dish I have ever made, possibly best dish I’ve ever eaten in my life. Sooooo delicious, it’s like better than restaurant quality. Also shockingly easy to clean up after, too! THANK YOU NISHA!!!! Will be making this again very very very soon
Crap is not holy.
@Adam Grimsley If it’s full of holes, it’s holey crap.
@Rainbow Plant Life I have a ginger tip for you… freeze your ginger! It grates on a microplane beautifully.
Hey ,the lentil curries or dal are vegetarian only. In daily cooking, ghee or butter is not used in Indian cooking. This fresh tumeric must be used sparingly otherwise it spoils the taste.
@Brian Parent bless you for being a wonderful neighbour!!
You are a godsend. My girlfriend recently has been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease and been on a very strict vegan diet. I’ve been looking around for dinner ideas and can’t thank you enough for the help.
@Democracy, Dignty, Human Rights! dude most likely it’s a scam or a cult
@Matt Liston Ahahaha, you went a bit unnoticed here and you were hilarious.
La compagnie kawasaki a chie moto
thats really sweet that you are looking for vegan meals to make her to support her, i love that
If she healed it means she did not have hashimoto, probably an infected thyroid, that does heal but looks like hashimoto.
This recipe was super easy and delicious. Its actually given me so much more confidence in the kitchen. Can’t wait to try more from you! Thank you!
That’s such fabulous news – I love to hear that it made you feel more confident in the kitchen. Can’t wait to hear what you make next 🙂
I usually make curry with tons and tons of butter and chicken but this turned out tastier, richer, and more satisfying than any curry I’ve ever had. Bless you 😭
That’s so fantastic to hear 🙂 I’m so glad you loved this plant-based version so much!
And yet it tastes buttery delicious!
when i saw that coconut cream and almond butter going in i knew it was gonna be chefs kiss
@Tom Marvolo Riddle Sure, but why would you want to? 🙂
All those kids that complained that your house smells like curry now are all “bougie” and “worldly” because they know of 1 curry restaurant that they pay way too much for.

This is soooo forking truee!! Haha. And she is right, curry is waaay better thab dried out meatloaf. I remember those meatloaf nights, not in a positive way. Haha.
As a Mexican I second this when they talked about our cooking
@Robin Slagle Unless they add the dried out meatloaf to the curry!
@niks nik sorry to heard about. Indian cuisine is not just chicken tikka masala, or lamb masala or paneer masala recipes. The daily meal millions of Indian eat is simple vegetarian food and it has always option of using clarified butter/ ghee or regular oil. The pulses normally eat is vegetarian without meat.
Ugh. I hate that kids are so dang mean sometimes. I can’t believe people teased you because your house “smelled like curry”. My neighbors were best friends with me and my brother growing up. They were Indian via the UK. I STILL remember how good that house always smelled to me. I remember their mom wearing lots of jewelry and jingling when she walked and listening to her sing along to the Beatles while she cooked. Such a bright happy home and family. They used to serve a dish just like this often. Great memories associated with this dish but I’ve never tried to make it myself. Didn’t think it would be this simple!
every kid was teased about something…kids are little shits! I’m German and we had some bizarre meals, and the kids mocked me for it too…
I made it based on the top comment, I’m on my way to get a second helping.
She has another video for spiced red lentil and sweet potato soup in the instant pot and it’s insane good. Like really good. And I’m not even a good cook.
I’ll be trying this one for sure.
I made this for my husband and I. He said it was “okay,” and that he didn’t much care for it 🙄 But he is super picky. I thought it was so good. I can’t eat rice or grains or bread. So I just ate it on it’s own and it was delicious!
YES!! A trip to India years ago made me realise I could eat veg without even think about eating meat ever again.
@Sul sur thank you, I know that. I already make cashew milk at home with ease but all I want is tofu and vegan ice cream. Cooking vegan food at home is not as much of a problem as is eating out.
@Π । Celeste । Π you’re right India is heavily *Lacto-vegetarian* not usually vegan
@Π । Celeste । Π you turned vegan, that is a different story, it one step ahead of vegetarianism which is followed largely in India. You will not find vegan concept in India because it is from west. Our culture, milk comes under 5 amrita ( Panchamrit- 5 nectars) and from vedic and aaryan times, the vegetarianism is followed by people in India and it is nothing wrong for us to consume milk and milk products as majority households have their own cattles and they first feed their babies snd later milk was used in villages . The commercial use of milk had come later in India. The way, chemical infused food is fed to cows in western world,it is not in India. Westerners eat beef in majority and to provide that food stock cows are over fed and that created severe threat to environment. The vegan world is fairly new term compared to vegetarianism . It was coined in 1944 only. That is more for those people who have pultry and meat products in daily routine. Those who follow Jainism, they are living happily in India, they don’t use honey, they don’t even eat garlic, onions roots, certain vegetables and even greeneries on certain days. They boiled the water to drink. They are not few but in millions in India. My own daughter is vegan as she has allergy of milk protein’ casien’. She immediately get severe asthma attack,in casee, she get expose to milk, keep aside tasting even if milk is boiling and she is around, she starts get whizzing. Do you know how much cashews are dangerous to your heart? It is not me,It is the doctor told me and prevented me to introducing cashew milk or cashew butter or cashew yogurt. We are not vegan till now, she was raised with Soy milk, now doctors have stopped that too. I started giving her millet porridge in bottle at night . Till she weaned completely breast milk,I stopped having milk products. She doesnot have any other deficiencies even being a vegetarian. She had never tasted any goodies a child has in childhood,no chocolates, biscuits, ice creams, desserts, sweets anything. I had never had problem when we went out dining. We used asked about milk and milk product in food and she won’t eat it. In starting it was bit difficult but now its ok. We travel much and in any part India, we have never face a problem. Once, we had to run to ICU when somebody offered her gulabjamun as a baby and I was not around and her lips swollen and we rushed to hospital. Now, when I said she cannot have milk because of allergy people understand. Milk is part and milk products are part of Indian culture and you cannot blame people not to understand veganism. You have adopted it, just imagine how I have raised my daughter. We don’t eat eggs and meat too. She is not only one case but you will find many children having such issues. By grace of god ,money is not an issue for us but do you know how much an average middle class struggles to meet an ends and is it possible for him to buy kgs of costly cashews and almonds to make milk or butter? He will not cry but he will stop going out and do the best what he can do for his child.
cutting dairy I found was harder..I loved cheese. But now I can’t remember what it taste like and I no longer miss it!
@Π । Celeste । Π india might not be vegan friendly but a lot of our dishes actually are (e.g. Dal with rice, Okra dishes, Khichdi, Cholay-Batura, etc.)
Isn’t this dhal?
I’m here to thank you for *not* having “background music” in the majority of your videos. I really can’t stand it anymore when all the YouTubers put all that background music behind their information.
And it’s always some variant of “Upbeat Concerto for Ukulele and Xylophone in A Major”
@economicist2011 lol 😂
same i can have a second tab with music if i want to
I been buying red curry cause I thought It was hard to make. I have almost all the ingredients 😀 I am going to make this!
UPDATE: We made your Red Lentil Curry, EVERYONE ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!! I even doubled the recipe and the next day I had it for dinner, again and here comes my kids, “What, you were going to eat that without us? I want a bowl.” And here they just got done eating their dinner!!
The other best part, outside of how excellent it was, my 20 old son came down as I was about to start preparing and washed his hands and said, “Ok, put me to work”. After dinner he said, “Call me down anytime you’re making her recipes.”
Girl, don’t ever change that recipe, it’s spot on! Used turmeric too😋
I loveeeee this dish!! Thank you for sharing!!
Do you have any recommendations on substitute for the almond butter? It’s so expensive for me. Non-vegan substitute is ok.
I feel healthier just watching this!
In India this lentil is also called as Meat for vegetarians because of energy and nutrition that they carry! Wth this lentil one can make gr8 kebabs too.
You’re editing is insane! I love it
I’m so happy I found this channel this is such a blessing.🙏🏽😊
