For those who know me, you know how much I love butter and eggs. Lots of you ask me for vegan alternatives, so I thought to give one a go!
In this tutorial, I try out a chocolate fudge cake, taken from The Domestic Gothess (So thank you!). It was so tasty and I’ve now overcome my fear of vegan cakes…! (I still swear by butter though…that will never change 😛 )

Beans on Toast says:

Thank you for making a vegan recipe. Animal products are cruel no matter how much you swear by them ❤

Tori- Loo says:

I made less mixture but kept the ratio and made these into little loaf cakes, fingers crossed! 🤞

Peanui's Adventures says:

Great recipe. Some possible egg replacements are aquafaba, blended silken tofu and blended avocados. They do work very well in terms of egg replacement.

And the eggs , and the meat!

Correna Tilton says:

I am so appreciative for all your videos. Thank you so Much. You are my Cake Queen Idol ❤️

シL i n a says:

But I thought vegans can only eat vegetables or fruits while vegetarians can eat anything but not meat or fish or chicken

Mandy Dennert says:

I like the fact that you don’t edit out your verbal mistakes. Makes this feel real, human, closer to you

Diyana Chimlyarova says:

I would like to see sugar free recipe and what will be the best substance to use to keep it healthy and sweet

As sweet as it gets says:

Love this recipe!

loveee says:

Could you try to make a regular vegan sponge cake? I tried one recently but it just didn’t have the light texture I wanted 😢

loveee says:

You could try stork butter in asda! It’s vegan. Make sure not to get the margarine though

Cheri Powers says:

Using the cream from the canned coconut milk will make a nice firm ganache. Simply place the can in the fridge for several hours, overnight is best, and the cream separates from the water. I had to make a gf and df wedding cake and used this chocolate ganache between the layers. It was so creamy and heavenly, and surprisingly, the coconut flavor doesn't come through. Love watching your videos. I learn so much 🤗

Neena Shah says:

I love your videos! and so glad you did a vegan one!!! I find that vegan cakes are quite soft and not great for cakes that need structure. I use oat milk for my vegan cakes, and that curdles when I add ACV. Nut milks don't curdle as much for some reason.

matka.weganka says:

I've made a few vegan cakes and I find that almond milk is not the best. I prefer soy or oatmilk instead 😊 And the best way to do perfect ganache is to use only hard part of coconut milk from the can, it needs to be very well cooled before 🤗

Katie Bott says:

Another way to weight your batter is to weight your bowl before you put your ingredients then once your ready to weight take away the weight of the bowl! easy as x I said weight too many time ok byyyyye

Chris A says:

Recipe I use when my vegan niece is around has a "vegan egg" aka ground flax seed, it does give the batter structure. (and loads of nutrients)

Chahna says:

Just made this cake and holy moly it’s so good! Recommend you add fruit between the layers though to break up the chocolateyness if anyone tries it 🙂

Anna Luc says:

Any brand suggestions for a good quality cocoa powder? I’m not sure what to look for xx

Vatsal Narang says:

Can totally relate with the fact that you stay away from vegan cakes, even I love using butter, dairy products and eggs in my cakes so if I’ve to make an eggless cake(some people in India are vegetarian, they don’t eat eggs and meat) don’t know why but I feel sad and I feel that my cake is incomplete..

E James says:

Gorgeous cake..I believe that the recipe could've used apple sauce in place of the eggs. It binds all of the ingredients well..something that I've personally found successful. x

Antria Kevaughn says:

Please do a tutorial on your number cake!!

Here a challenge … Diabetic's cake….

Jumbled Gem says:

I tier large/small vegan cakes all the time with no problems with crumbling so maybe you’ll just need to experiment with different recipes until you find the perfect one. I highly recommend It Doesn’t Taste Like Chicken recipes. Perfect 👌 thank you so much for trying the vegan cake!

PatisserieBoy says:

Olive oil is WONDERFUL in chocolate cakes.

Mona Chirri-Hamadeh says:

Looks delicious 😍 I've made a similar recipe before and I remember how good and chocolatey the cake was 😍 now that you mention to specifically use canned coconut milk that makes sense. I tried making mine with almond milk and it didn't hold at all. I'm sure your cousin will love it!
