How to clean, restore, and season cast iron skillets

#texascastirongiveaway # castironrestoration #seasoningcastiron

So we have been using cast iron skillets for the last month or so in our videos. We typically find them at resale and antique shops but had to knock the rust off and re-season some of them. So here is a quick how to and walk through of how we restored and seasoned our cast iron skillets. Speaking of found we
discovered these at Back o’ the Wagon antiques over in Alvin, Texas.

You gonna need
Old rusted cast iron skillet(s)
1-2 gallons of vinegar
2-3 tablespoons of baking soda
Steel wool or scouring pads
Oil or grease, crisco is fine (we used captured bacon grease)
A few rags (paper towels are fine)
A metric shit ton of elbow grease
An oven that will go to 500 degrees
Gloves optional

Time
Takes @8 hours or so on average
