Mary's Test Kitchen says:

Boston Cream doughnuts were one of my fave picks from Tim Horton’s. So while we wait for the donut shops to get it together and make vegan versions on the regular, we can make our own, dangnabbit!
What are your favourite donut flavours? Let me know and maybe I’ll do it next time!

Susan Hoppe says:

You called to my vegan heart, I missed Boston Cream donuts and I may have to find a baker to make them for me……. BCD is my FAVORITE!

Rutger Bosch says:

Wou Nice donuts good gob

Chris Light says:

My favourite were always the Honey Crullers, loved that tractor tire shape, doughey-stretchy inside and delicious glazing. Would love to see a vegan version of it if you’re up for the challenge 😀 (PS : I’m on the I-still-eat-honey bandwagon, we need to save the bees right? So why not support local beekeepers so that we don’t lose most of the fruits and veggies we do have)

slowfire2 says:

How about cinnamon? Would that work? Strawberry jam with chunks in it and whipped soy cream? Something with salt liquerice dusting on. How about mango filling. Qumqat? Something very locally grown and not used as often as people did historically?

Supreme Grand Master says:

I used to weigh 155 lbs.

les mercredis on porte du rose says:

I have made a terrible mistake. This was the worst (best) thing to watch while working out at the gym

Mary's Test Kitchen says:

Um..when I have donuts, I just work out a little harder…so donuts are actually a good thing for the gym. hehehe
🍩🍩🍩🍩🍩

Supreme Grand Master says:

That is the true fact!

Sean Lumly says:

Pastry cream using flour?! My mind is BLOWN. I never would have guessed that this would work! Amazing!

Sean Lumly says:

Definitely! Thanks for sharing!

Lena Moser says:

In Germany where I live, most (or possibly all, though I wouldn’t swear to that!) dry custard mixes are accidentally vegan since they consist only of some sort of starch, sugar, and possibly food colouring, and you can make them with any type of milk you like, including plant milk. These are also the traditional ingredients for making custard from scratch, except most people still use cow’s milk. So, very similar principle!

Fruits Chinpo Samurai G says:

Lena Moser its the same in India!

marykacyy says:

I’ll just go to Krispy Kreme ^-^

Supreme Grand Master says:

LOL. To thicken. Duh! Just like bisque and other soups.

Britt Natto says:

Best donut hands down. Thank you for making a vegan version.

Mary's Test Kitchen says:

Thanks for watching! 🍩🍩🍩

Supreme Grand Master says:

I used Old El Paso’s refried beans to create a cinnamon and pumpkin spice pudding with sugar.. Next time I gonna use chocolate powder and vanilla extract..

Nicholas Clar says:

No reason not to be vegan with this in our lives 🙂

Mary's Test Kitchen says:

Basically anything can be made vegan! 😀
🍩🍩🍩

Nicholas Clar says:

damn right

KIARA says:

yeah

Supreme Grand Master says:

There is a reason to become a vegan. Which is a NetFlix’s documentary, known as “Forks Over Knives”.

Joanne says:

Can you make a vegan butter tart?

Mary's Test Kitchen says:

I LOVE butter tarts and I’ve made them vegan before…just have to dig the recipe out of my old notebooks. Thanks for the request! 🍩🍩🍩

Ivane Sanchez says:

I’ve only watched 30 seconds and WHYYYY MARY!!!!! WHYYY do you torture me with mouth watering images of delicious treats I am too lazy to make myself?

stryfetc1 says:

Lol!…..since becoming vegan….I’ve really taken to cooking!….especially since you’ll starve otherwise

Ah shit, here we go again. says:

stryfetc1 been vegan going on 6 years and yeah you definitely have to cook for yourself especially if your the only vegan in your house. I just need to learn how to make vegan sweets since i waste so much money on vegan cookies and doughnuts

Supreme Grand Master says:

I made vegan pizza from scratch.

Raver Magik says:

If you WET your hands before you handle the sticky dough it wont be messy for your hands. Tip i learned from a french baker.

Mary's Test Kitchen says:

true! Good tip!

Supreme Grand Master says:

Duh! Because of sugar.

Lissie Johnson says:

Get in my Belly!!!

Mary's Test Kitchen says:

😉

Supreme Grand Master says:

Not your stomach, but your uterus.

Vidhi Parikh says:

@Supreme Grand Master Wtf😑

chowdownvegan says:

“I’d rather use my trusty old kitchen scale for accuracy and less effort” YES 🙌 waiting for the day that every part of the world converts to measuring most types of ingredients with scales instead of cups and spoons (that aren’t universally sized). using scales also means less cleanup of course as you can measure your ingredients directly into your bowl 👍

MuseOfHeart says:

epiccollision $10? lol u can get them for like £3-5. Cups are useful for measuring out portion sizes but I’d never use them for recipes that require any sort of accuracy

Aiden Riley says:

VF-31Siegfried if your a common baker, you should have one, it’s also easer to teach kids using scales as cups can be a pain to work with.

kait D says:

I personally like doing things the old fashioned way but…😏

Mrs Aye' says:

You can put your rolling pin, biscuit cutter and thermometer money into getting a kitchen scale, apparently. 😏

Supreme Grand Master says:

Doesn’t matter, because keep on tasting you know what.

Dominika Džatková says:

I really love your “its your food, so there are no rules” thought ❤

Mary's Test Kitchen says:

+Dominika Džatková thank you!

Supreme Grand Master says:

Mary any person. LOL.

The Fourteenth Ward says:

you’re doing the lord’s work

Britt Slater says:

The Fourteenth Ward this made me laugh out loud! Yes!

Sammy Swanksmith says:

I don’t believe in god but that was pretty funny. 😛

Tahtahme's Diary says:

Yo, I’m not Christian but this had me rolling too, well done

Supreme Grand Master says:

The Pope

Becky says:

Cute, lol. Cute!

Anna says:

I am SO making these! I’m gonna add a little turmeric to the cream so it looks a little more like custard!

Mary's Test Kitchen says:

good idea!

Supreme Grand Master says:

Indian

Irene Rudnyk says:

Are you kidding me? please open your restaurant already , i would be there every day haha

soyboy says:

That sounds like a lot of work. All to maybe reach a couple of hundred vegans in her local area, and MAYBE be able to cover the rent and ingredients and employee salaries, and maybe not. Or, she can continue to make amazing recipes which only take a few days, have very little risk, and can reach millions of viewers like us. 🙂
Mary, I am totally grateful for the hard work you do right now, and will support you as long as you want to do it.

slowfire2 says:

I would buy her cookbooks if thwre are any. Are there?

Collin Lovas says:

I agree. Waiting for that restaurant to open.

Supreme Grand Master says:

LOL. Of course not that gonna happen.

SlitherinBanana says:

Ash says:

I always find it funny when vegan recepie videos have adds for fried chicken and steak before them. 😂

Mary's Test Kitchen says:

+Ash me too! I say,,. Take their ad dollars and make vegan fried chicken! 😉

amandabcnn says:

Yeah it’s called desperation 😂

oh no says:

I like how nice and forgiving you sound because it keeps me calm if I mess up in a step

Mary's Test Kitchen says:

ksm520 says:

I baked my donuts for 10 minutes and one second and my oven exploded. Listen to her!

Supreme Grand Master says:

Don’t do multiple squirts.

Jason Parker says:

@Supreme Grand Master Good night everybody!

Plant Based Senior says:

Made these last weekend – granddaughter approved! Used my air fryer – so easy

Michelle says:

This girl says “I’ll show you how to make the baked option” and I said “YAAAAASSS GURRRRRLL”
