I made this vegan cornbread eight times before I was satisfied. I was too busy trying to capture the texture, flavor and moisture of how cornbread used to be before I became a vegan. Mission accomplished.

Ingredients (Serves 5)
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
½ cup of raw sugar
¾ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 ¼ cup almond milk
1/3 cup canola oil
1 Ener-G “egg”
6-7 ¼ teaspoons vegan margarine
Instructions
1. Preheat over at 400º
2. Make your Ener-G “egg” then place it to the side.
3. In a large bowl, cornmeal, sugar, salt, and baking soda.
4. In a separate bowl, mix together almond milk, canola oil, and Ener-G egg.
5. Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients until just combined-being sure not to over mix the batter.
6. Add in the vegan margarine.
7. Pour into a baking pan and bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool for about 10 minutes before enjoying.

It's in the oven..I used watered down half n half and just tapioca starch. I chunked up the softened butter and plopped it in. We will see how it comes out, so far it is looking and Smelling sooo good! Thanks! *it looks like golden brown perfection and the smell is sooo sweet and toasty – I pulled out a clean toothpick and but its moist and fluffy so I'm sure it will be awesome. Thanks tons again!
Will this work for dressing? This is going to be my first attempt at a vegan Holiday after being plant-based for three years 🙂.
She never said anything about baking powder
yesterday, I tried a vegan recipe from here on You Tube…It turned out so terrible that I had to throw it out. Today I tried "Brown Vegan's" recipe and it turned out PERFECT! Thank you, Brown Vegan!
For me it was too much sugar I used Splenda instead of raw sugar because I wanted to be healthier next time I’ll just use 4 teaspoons of sugar instead of 1/2 of sugar in my case Splenda
I forgot the butter! I hope it turns out okay ☹
This came out AMAZING! It's so moist and fluffy. AND it has the nice crisp edges and crust on top. 10/10. The adjustments I made were making a flax egg, vegetable oil, and I used baking soda. In the video ONLY baking soda was used, even though the description says baking powder and soda. I also used medium grain cornmeal because that's the best for cornbread.

My husband made this tonight. He’s been very skeptical of vegan recipes…he loved it! So did my kids:) thanks
It really looks good. Going to give it a try. It made my mouth water.
This is by far my favorite cornbread receipe. I also tweak a little as well. 💛🧡
Added vinegar
I know that I am super super SUPER late. But I want to just think you for this recipe. This is my third attempt at making a vegan cornbread. The first two times the center was not done for some reason. The recipe also called for apple sauce. So I went on a hunt for another without apple sauce. Found you and it all worked out.
Thanks again. 😊
Oh btw, I did not have the same egg substitute you had used. I just made the egg substitute using flaxseed and water. And it worked out just fine. 😉
I made this last year for thanksgiving. Now I HATED cornbread before like HATED. This recipe changed my life. I added in green onions, Monterey Jack cheese and corn. Omggggg was this amazing. I also heated up a caste iron skillet with a stick of butter and threw the batter in and popped it in the oven
This cornbread was soooooo good!! Very moist and perfect!
This looks like an awesome recipe, and o want to try it today, but outside of the butter, I don't know how much of each ingredient I add. 😥
This looks amazing! I want to make this for dinner but the recipe link is saying private. Can you please share?
Wow you just threw the ingredients in bowl u didn't say how much😐
That cornbread looks amazing. Well done. I'm gonna give it a shot.

Can you put the ingredients in the dropbox, so I can go to the store and follow you stepbystep
