Henry Martin says:

I made this tonight and I was so upset that it didn’t turn out the way it should. I followed the recipe and steps exactly and I couldn’t form the balls or even patties because it was too wet. I drained those chickpeas and also patted them dry just in case. I don’t get it. There must be a step missing.

Aaron Kastriot Iseni says:

It's been a year now since i use chef John's recipe for falafel, and i like it very much, i tried others as well, and its not that there is big difference but i always prefered this one. However i think for a home made falafel is pretty damn good, but i do find it to be a little bit dry inside, and last night i was going to make it again, as usual I have prepared beans day before, and after I did everything I realized i was out of baking soda!
At that point i was like okay, I'll use baking powder just this one time.
Believe it or not, it was the best falafel i ever made, it was nice and crunchy on outside as it usually was before, but so soft and moist in the inside, it was so moist that you could smash it, and that was not because it was under cooked, it was perfectly cooked inside. So, i don't know if it's because of the baking powder or it was just simply done good by "luck", anyway I would like to ask if anyone of you use baking powder instead of baking soda?

Celina says:

You are very funny:) i will try the recipe, thanks!

Freedom says:

How about air frying.
Will that work?
Just trying to stay away from oil frying!

Eva Chandler says:

Yummy, You taught me something new, I didn't know I needed to soak the beans only, I thought canned chick peas would work but I think it's best to leave those to hummus due to texture needing to be firmer to make the falafel.

Robin O says:

Use ghee instead of vegetable oil. Taste much better.

mathusalem says:
