Last story… those guys are asshats. Prob did it on purpose. I’ve been at places when it closed and they always come 10-5 mins before and bring the check saying they close in 15 mins so pay up. That owner is an idiot.

This is why I always lift my feet, move my chair, ect if I see anyone sweeping near me. When people are trying to do their job, it helps in so many ways to not be a dick about it.

Reminds me of a time me and my dad went on a holiday to Scotland. We arrived at our hotel pretty late, about 9:30 PM, and still had to find something to eat… so we went to quite a few restaurants, and most were either closed or preparing to close, so they didn't let any new customers in. Then, finally we found a place that would still serve us food, even though they were about to close… They seemed quite annoyed about the fact that they still had to prepare and serve two orders, which I totally get… but still… tourists also need to eat right? We didn't have any food with us, and all supermarkets were closed, and after a whole day of travelling we were, of course, starving. Anyway, my point is that in some of these cases, the customers making staff stay late can't really help it. In other cases, however, they're just being inconsiderate assholes, like the beer drinking dudes.

I used to be a Server at Cracker Barrel and I had this family who’s son had Downs Syndrome. He was THE SWEETEST Kiddo!!!! They Always came in on the nights I worked and when I was offered a job as a Trainer at TGIF…
They actually Followed me to the new restaurant. I really ENJOYED that Whole Family!!!!
Every Holiday Season & right before my son’s Birthday… he would hand me a Card & just BEAM…inside was Always at least $100! My last year serving them, because I was moving…they gave me $500 and had a Picture we had all taken together (my son included as he was so well behaved that I was allowed to bring him to work often. Actually, my Managers & other Servers Spoiled Him Endlessly! lol) that Halloween Blown up & Framed! It still Hangs on my wall 15yrs later. 😊

I worked in a library and we closed at 9 pm one day a week. We made the announcement, checked to make sure no one was still in the library, turned out the lights, set the alarm and locked the door. We hadn’t even made it to the parking lot when the alarm suddenly started wailing. We quickly run back. Turn off the alarm and find a 10 year old girl standing in the office area crying. We recognized her, her mother had been warned several times about trying to use us as a babysitting service. Turned out the mother had told the girl to hide until she came to get her after work. The poor kid was terrified when the alarm went off and a few minutes later the cops showed up to make sure everything was okay. They took the girl and tracked the mom down at the bar, drunk as a skunk and CPS was called. The mother assumed we would just stay and look after her kid until she came to get her…the child who she had told to HIDE.
