Hello all vegan chefs. I thought that I had found another winner with the frosting. I was absolutely wrong!! I followed the recipe to a tee–which is my custom when trying new recipes–for the frosting, and got a liquid runny mess. I spoke to a friend and she said that I should have NOT melted the butter–as the recipe called –instead, I should have incorporated the butter at room temperature.  Wow! That actually makes sense.

To be more precise, the cook did not actually film herself melting the butter, even though she said to melt it. Another good point that my friend made was that cooks don't tell you "everything" that they do. If that is the case here, what a let down, as I was contemplating a very wonderful frosting. The next time, I will follow my friend's advice.

On the other hand, I can't comment on the cake as yet, as it's cooling. However, I must say that I did not use two (2) cups of sugar (Florida Crystals), as the recipe called for, as that to me is overkill. I also used Carob Powder in lieu of chocolate (avoidance of caffein) . Oops! I guess I am commenting. LOL.

Why did mine come out so bitter 😢 , it is as if something went wrong with the soda although i used 2tbsps. and i mixed everything very well, it's like you can taste the baking soda..

I recently turned vegan and I’m usually the one who makes all the cakes in my family, so I was looking for a vegan recipe that tastes like it’s not vegan.
I tried this last night, it turned out amazing and so delicious.
